Comparing a new fiat with a vauxhall is like comparing crap with ****, theyre both not brilliant.
If your looking at 17500 why not just opt for the Golf TDi, a better car, better residuals.
Hey people.
I currently drive a Mk4 Vaux Astra 1.6 16v and feel like swapping it for another car.
Two choices
1.7 CDTi Vauxhall Astra Sports Hatch 100bhp Ł17500
1.9 130bhp Grunde Punto Sporting Ł14000
Now they're both the same insurance group and the punto is cheaper...
So whats sacrificed on the punto?
Is the myth Fix It Again Tomorrow really true?
I have to say, i sat in the punto, opened the glove box, went to close it and it took 7 attempts to get it to stay shut.
Anyway, question, whats the 1.9 disel engine like? does it sound liek a tractor and how easy is it to tune the engine?
Would it be worth waiting a year for the new Corsa D seing though it shares the same engine and chasis, but has a betterbuild quality too it?
Answers, suggestions please

Or wait for the grande GT?
I test drove one of the 1.3 90bhp diesels and i wasnt really that imprssed tbh! dont think id spend £14000 on a diesel punto imo....golf tdi sounds a much better option!
I heard the 1.3 90 BHP is suposed to be a really nice engine? Same engine as in the 1.3 astra too.
Does anyone know the golf TDi insurance group?
Prob on website. A3 is 11Originally Posted by Skót

I'm only 19... lol.
i'd be going golf for that money or a late 306 spending that amount of cash on a fiat or vauxhall is pure madness
note i also mean finance on that is bonkers too
your 19 you'll be bored of ya car by christmas so keep the cost down
buy a jtd 51 plate punto and see how you go
14k on a Diesel Punto??
Surely you can get a massive reduction on that price!
