£1000 Budget

Ok Guys and Gals,

What would you buy on a £1000 budget, it would have to be up to a 1.8 and reliable

May struggle to get a Clio for that money if your looking at the 16v, maybe RSI as there normally cheaper.
Theres so many cars you could go for though, your obviously looking at an older "sporty" car. So things like XR3i, XR2i (1.6 or 1.8), 205 GTi (1.6), Citroen AXGT(i), Mark 1 Golf GTi (1.6 or 1.8), Mark 2 Golf GTi (8 or 16v), Daihatsu Charade GTTi, Suzuki Swift GTi, Mark 1 GT1, the list could go on and on.

yeh well i'm only looing to get something for about a yr anyway, was looking at the golfs etc

nothing too small also but not a huge car(modaeo(sp) etc)

something sporty would be good but not essensial, just as long as i dont rele have to do much to it and that it wont go wrong as much as a punto
