    Processor & Motherboard

I need to purchase a new motherboard and processor.. its the fisrt time i have purchased the 2 but am confident in putting the machine together

Just wondering if the 2 below are compatible.. so far the front side bus looks ok and the socket is the same

The only difference that i can see is that the processor is a celeron where as the motherboard is a pentium 4.. will this matter??

Anything else i should be looking for???

    Any help is exremly appreciated!!!

Yes they will, as long as the Celeron is a socket 478 as well.

the fsb will auto downgrade to 533mhz, although are you sure the chip is celeron 2.2ghz? might be slow mate, make sure you compensate for it by using q lot of memory pref 512mb or1024 (1gb) ddr pc3200

Also when the motherboard says it pentium 4 and the actual processor is different i.e celeron in this case.. does its actually matter??

I always thought that as long as the credentials are similar i.e same socket and motherboard having enogh front side bus then they would both work together???
