Had an MOT this morning as I want to have a full year without worry with the decat on.
However I failed as i didnt have a rear number plate light. Funny thing is I passed 6 months ago at the same place, did I have one then....nope!
So heres what i bodged up and they passed it for me the same day. BEAUTIFUL!
Then it came straight off again.

MOT's are 12 months.

So you've been driving round for 6 months with no numberplate lights? Havent you been pulled by the police?
My bad I never put one on as I didn't want to cut a hole in the bumper, the plates so low down the car lights behind you light it up anyway I had it like that for ages and I never got pulled up, police have followed me and never said a thing, but M.o.t's are stricter now its all on computer and there are records etc, the garage can get screwed over easier if they pass a car when its not supposed to! If you get pulled up Rich just blame it on me!
I wanted it re mot'd so I can have 12 months hassle free with the decat (makes perfect sense)
I have been pulled 3 times, each time the feds and myself have stood at the rear of the car.... They always stand there looking and comment on it (nice ones) but have never even asked about the rear number plate light.
It pass with flying colours other than that, then on my way of the garage i just pulled it off and chucked it in the boot.
