What speed limit was the area? Country lanes?
I know how he feels, about the back end coming out, but when that happened to me I was going too fast.
I can see the poilce getting involved and sending him on one of those sriver improvement courses, as he caused damage to other vehicles
like country roads yea.. apparently he was doing 50 mph.. on a easy bend ! not tight.. just a slight move of the steering wheel to move it round the corner.. and the back end just came out !
If it was wet/muddy/leaves on the road surface then that may explain the reason for the back end sliding out
TBH mate for that to happen he must have been going to fast for the road conditions (god I sound like my parents)

I nearly lost my car on an almost straight road, back end twitched and it felt like i had lost a tyre, arse was all over the place(the cars not mine), pulled up and checked wheels nothing was wrong.
must have been diesel on the road or something, but was a close call
