    whats this?

just had a go at removing my sidestrips and came across this black stuff..

(the black stuff in the middle of the two foam strips, looks like glue)

    is it sikaflex?

    is it removable?

    cheers

it takes a long time to remove that stuff. best bet is to slowly scrape a large quantity off the body work with a sharp object but dont touch the paint work.
or just keep rubbing with tar remover and it takes forever.
    it did me any way

I believe it can be removed, but you need to use that tar remvoal stuff, like lee said above

Think it takes a long time of continuous scrubbing, but be careful, as you dont want to remove any paintwork

Theres a how to guide in the exterior section

as long as your patiant with it you should have no problems at all.
i done it on mine took about 2 hours but that was in the summer and knowing this weather it will probably piss down so you might be better off leaving it till a better day

i done it by getting a window scraper (plastic one) and kinda of removing a mass quantity with that then the remainder i used autoglym intensive tar remover and alot of rubbing but it done the trick.
i know people have used petrol to remove it but unsure if it has any effect on your paint work.
just take your time and all should be sweet.
