i think the 106 will
tried searching for this
which would win ?
i think the 106 will
on paper they're about the same but i've always found the gt will edge it on the road. from 40 upwards.
straight line, GTOriginally Posted by wrigh2uk
bends, GTi
1997 Fiat Punto GT Abarth - being restored
2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake
my mates 106
i cant get anywere near it in a straight line or corners.
seb 2 GT all the time as ive raced a few of my mates, 206 GTi 180 is another story tho
seb2 should have no problems, ive never been beaten by a 106 (in a straight line)
this is kinda relevant to this topic but wondering about these ?
GT3 against a Mk2 HGT (both standard)
106 GTi against a Saxo VTS
Clio 182 against a 206 GTi 180
Going on the specs and reviews in evo mag...
A GT should see off an HGT; both have the same power, but the GT weighs a bit less, and being turbocharged has more torque at lower revs. Not much in it handling-wise either.
The VTS and 106 GTi are near enough the same car. They're based on the same bodyshell/chassis, both use the same 1.6 16v engine, and the weight difference is only about 15kg.
The Clio 182 will obliterate the 206 GTi 180. By all accounts the GTi 180 has a particularly nasty engine that doesn't go half as well as you'd expect from 180bhp. Plus the 206 is s***e on corners, whereas the 182 is something of a handling legend!
Thanks a lot mate it is because they are the 6 cars im thinking bout selling up the punto for but which would everyone choose?
