50" LCD, I doubt it...
50" LCD Rear Projection, maybe...
50" freeview will look very shíte unless you are far away from the screen due to the over the top compression used.
I cant find any other info on that TV, but I'm pretty sure it is rear projection and not and LCD flat screen. Look at the depth of the TV, over 40cm.
Do research on a TV before you buy, don't just go for the largest ****er for the cheapest price.

You'd be daft to buy a new TV that isn't HD ready unless you go for something cheap. Sky are starting to broadcast in HD, lots of DVD players take advantage of the HD stuff and of course the PS3 and the Xbox360 use it too.
A decent LCD doesn't have to cost the earth. I've got one of these on order, and for the price it's a great deal IMO:

Did plenty of homework on the whole LCD TV thing and Samsung LCD's are very good. You'll regret buying a non branded LCD, stick to Toshiba, Sony, Samsung & LG and you'll not go too far wrong.
