why was that?
Fan belt slipping yesterday then eventually I lose all power...........great the belt must have come off........it had!
Down to the garage to find the belt was a nackered but the worst thing was my alternator had NOTHING holding it in place.......as in it wasn't bolted to the car in anyway!!! I was needless to say, shocked but alas it's now working, bolted on and a new belt fitted.
But just think what COULD have happened!
why was that?

Not sure unless Fiat never actually bolted it on........scary thought.
I got 2 new bolts from fiat and got them back in there and now its much better plus I have no fear of it falling off.......thankfully!
was it removed when the bottom end was replaced?

could the bolts have corroded

There was no sign of the bolts at all, i dont think they ever got put back in!
i doubt fiat forgot to put some bolts in and for the altenator to stay in position for all these years.
Was it remove when you had your head done.
