    strange noise

    Hi i have a fiat punto sporting mk1 1.2 16v, it has developed a strange noise, when the car is rolling along in gear and i do not press any pedals (just let it roll in gear) it makes a kind of fast ticking sound which gets slower as the car slows down, if i touch the accelorator very slightly it stops, it does it with the clutch in or out and also in netrual, it doesnt make the sound when the car is stopped, so im thinking its probably nothing to do with the engine, but maybe the gearbox or drive to the wheels, any ideas anyone?
