three short beeps Base 64K RAM failure

Ive been looking at getting some Memory for my pc and bought some from Ebay

But....

Ive installed it and it gives out

three shortbeeps which means a Base 64K RAM failure

Q1 Am I ****ed
Q2 Is the meomy Ive bought ****ed
Q3 am i going to have to buy diff memory
Q4 why does it beep what does 64k ram failure mean.

Right, i have lost touch with new technology since i am too broke for it, but remembering back to what i learnt, PC's only had the 64kb of RAM and dos was based around this, think it increased to 1024kb or 640kb or sum shiit after that. I think PC's nowadays still used the same kind of base but with a lot more RAM.

Basically ya RAM is fuct, not all of it, but the initail 64k that your computer needs to boot, so actually yeah, all ya RAM is fuct.

Hope that helps, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, a lot of weed has passed my lungs since i have done any learning and has affected my memory somewhat.

yea ur memory you have bought is ****ed! i did computer training 4 some time.. and i know when memory fails.. its when you boot ur computer up.. from that it goes BEEP, Beep, Beep!!! u need new memory.. ive got 14 available!!! will be tested before shipped 4 sale.. 256mb sd ram << £12 including delivery

well i havent got ddr.. but i know that faster then SD.. .. i just wanna get rid of them.. i have 14 Sd- Ram 256 memory.. @ a nice price of £12 each.. including delivery... i will personally test it on my own computewr b4 shipping.. but to the memory you have bought.. snap it!! its a failer.. unless you dont want to do that.. you can check that memory in a dif motherboard.. 2 see if it is that.. but i know it is.. as i quoted ive done computers skills b4.. but just incase.. other poissibilitys could be ur motherborad itself.. CPU, n the slots you put like video cards n stuff in.. 4 got the name... but i defiently think it is ur memory thast is bust :P

Its running fine on its old memory so its not the pc .

as i said in your other thread.

nowadays its more a trial and error thing with memory. just because it says it will work with your pc, doesn't mean it will.

I'd buy a name brand - Kingston are the daddies, Samsung make good memory too-- if it doesnt have a name it could have been made by captured wild monkey's in china, who use banana resin instead of solder- this is not good
