it was deffo an option for them going by past conversations.

but we were led to believe it wasn't for UK GT's due to the RHD.

The compressor would be driven off the drive belts so would have to be in the same place on left or right hand drive cars. The only thing different would be the steering assembely, which i can't see getting in the way.

euro rhd impots all had air con, in lieu of a sunroof.

AFAIK, Fiat spec'd the UK market to have a sunroof instead as it they didnt think the UK got hot.

The air con models ie most of european gt's have a different front engine mount.
