    Exclamation Dump

    As you will probably tell I'm not the most proficient when it comes to car engines!!!

    Can you tell me if a dump valve is standard in the GT3 or are these all fitted aftermarket?

    Standard in the GT, yes. The excess boost pressure created by the turbo after you lift your foot off the accelerator has to go somewhere.

    The standard one is a recirculating dump valve - this vents that excess pressure back into the engine in simple terms. These are quiet normally.

    The aftermarket ones are usually bought for the noise, and these vent that excess pressure to the atmosphere as opposed to back into the engine.
