GT engines to powerful for the Punto Chassis

during a discussion on another forum where a girl wants to put a new engine in her 1.2 punto.

i was explaining to her the engine options she can go for when someone replied saying

I've read in a few places that the standard 1.4 turb is too powerful for the chasis of the punto and has a tendancy to warp it especially when tuned.

he said that he read it on the parkers website a few years ago.

can anyone explain this? i've never heard that before.

And to be honest if they were then wouldnt fiat have stopped making them?? Instead of models one two and then three?

the gt shell is the same as diesel anyway, with gusseted and tri skinned flitches.

silvio has made 400bhp puntos and never had a problem...

He actualy made a 600 Hp punto and had no probs.

yer but that was never used to extent as the transmission had problems
