    Sat Nav recommendation

    Hi people

    I am looking at getting sat nav,

    requirements are

    would like to have a removable unit
    pref under £300 (cheaper the better)
    one that does speed cameras

    not too sure on pros and cons but an recommendations would be cool

    Buy a PDA like the Ipaq 1710 from Ebay then buy a Car kit from ebay for it with a GPS reciver, buy a 256mb SM Card then aquire a copy of TomTom that should set u back around £200. After u have done that download checkpoint and that should give u speed camera warnings

    cool will look into this, would prefer not to use ebay as I hate it, would like some aftercare (get what u pay for i suppose)

    when u say acquire a copy of tomtom do u mean on the sly?

    I got my 1710 for £60 plus £30 del this would cost u around £200 from a shop alone!!!!

    It's up to you how u go about getting TomTom

    has that ipaq got built in GPS?

    Nope. I went down the road of using a Ipaq for SatNav as i can also us it as an MP3 player on the train

    Got this for sale, its an all in one unit so could even be used as handheld satnav. Could negotiate on price a little. The PDA is a fairly good spec too.

    well not 100% sure at the moment as I have been told my 206 has a film on the windscreen so not sure if it would work

    might be intrested if u could do a deal?
