you can get as close as 0.8inchs in macro mode.

you can get wide angle adapter WC-E24 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
    fish eye lens FC-E8 £220
    teleconverter lens TC-E2 £105

you may need a lens adapter for the above

I'd recomend the canon 28-105 USM lens over the sigma ones. I have no problem with second hand lenses either

so is that camera any good?

if the price stays the same not only do i get a new lens for my camera, i get a newer camera.

or is that camera not as good as the EOS-1N?

not that you'll take my word for it but....
if your refering to buying the 300v in the add from canon shop then dont.
i bought the 300v from the canon shop and they sent me a sure shot 35mm which was worth around £20.
it took me ages to track down a phone number for them as they only use email to correspond. once i got through it is just a call center opperated in what sounds like a foreign country and it took me over 2 month to see any refund and was p1ssed about the whole time. canon refuse to talk to you also as they are not responsible for this company and in the end they didn't even have the camera to sell, as apparently they were given incorrect info by canon who of course denied any knowledge.
as earlier stated though i did get an excellent eos 300 with lense films carry bag and filters for just £60 delivered from ebay which isnt bad as it retails new for over £200 not including the goodies. like i also stated earlier you will get a standard 28-80mm lense for around £30 on the bay which is a good lense for general day to day stuff.
be warned regardin the canon online shop though i'm only trying to help.
