how much cash you got to spend
i've had a Canon EOS-1N AF SLR camera come into my possesion.

however it has no lense. so i need to acquire a lense for it.
the kinda things i'm going to be using it for are car shots, static and dynamic, day and night.
i'm not sure if this would be possible with one lense as i know nothing about photography.
any help greatly appreciated.

not a lot.
i'm not going to want mega profession pics from this. i'm not professional so its never going to happen
as a rough guess i'm going to say £100

either of these too. have a look on ebay to see if you can find something cheap.
you can pick up the standard 35-80mm lense these things came with on ebay for not much cash at all in either canon version or sigma or alternative.
that lense will cover a lot of circumstances ok, at least enough to get going and getting used to the camera before deciding whether to splash out on bigger and better.
i got an slr a little while ago and must admit im loving it. picture quality is fantastic and colours are very vivid. they take some getting used to i've done 3 films in and am no where near good (sure i have a few good shots, but not consitent) but i think this is where the true art of photography comes in. anyone can take a good pic on digital but its a bit harder on slr. however the results are worth the effort.

different lenses. the 28-105 probably costs more to make
