There's been hundreds of threads like this. Just use anything except IE! I recommend Opera

If you insist on using IE and are on Windows XP then make sure you have Service Pack 2 and have popup blocker enabled.
Opera will provide you with pop-up free browsing but Firefox will provide you with pop-up free browsing at fast speeds once you apply some tweaks!
