the filler cap neck maybe loose take the rear arch liner off and check the clip round the neck
otherwise it might be a leak around the fuel pump or pump cover
Everytime i fill my tank right up i can smell petrol for hours after.

I have this problem too.
When I fill up absolutely full tank, around £35, I can smell petrol for hours and it even leaks, but I can't see where the fook it's leaking from. It's not the tank because the fuel falls down the side of the tank and drips down off the bottom of it.
When I don't fill up full tank however, around £30, it doesn't leak and I smell no petrol.
Is it a similar thing for you xploit?
I'll try your suggestion slider cheers.

might have a hole in the filler pipe that leads to the petrol tank sometimes when bigger wheels are fitted it can catch it!
Are you putting the filler cap on properly? (I'm not taking the piss!)
Are you sure it isn't just fumes coming from either the fuel pressure release valve or the breather pipe that runs parallel to the main filler neck?
i agree with you if theres no leaks etc this seems like the most sensible anwser.Originally Posted by jimma

How can I actually get to the breather pipe/filler neck to check them?
