Adjusting the bonnet release cable?
Does anyone know what the crack is with this coz mines really slack and my bonnet only just opens. I want to get it sorted before it stops working altogether. I've noticed on the slam panel what looks like the adjustment part? Can someone tell me which way to move the 'grommet' along the teeth to make the cable tighter. I've tried both directions but didn't notice a difference in the tightness of the cable. Also, how easy is the cable to change?

unfortunately i left my haynes at work while reading it.
But i think for adjustment isnt there a screw in the spring that adjusts it.
i remember seeing a picture in the haynes with a guy adjusting the screw.
I maybe wrong but i hope im right for ya mate. will try to have a look when i get hold of my book again for ya if i remember.

Taken from haynes manual section 11-1
Bonnet Release Cable
" Refiting the cable is the reverse of removal process. On completion, close the bonnet to ensure it closes correctly, then check the operation of the release mechanism. If adjustment is required, this can be achieved by repositioning the slotted plastic collar fitted to the cable outer sheath, in the mounting lug on the underside of the striker plate"
Hope this helps, or makes sense
