    Saxo VTS

What are the opinions on these. Not about them being owned by muppets who kev them up etc.

It's just that, have been offered an 03 plate VTS with 15k on the clock for £4800, and think that it's not a bad price.

Handling is excellent, they are pretty nippy little things, pretty much the same as the 106 GTi (same cars) but the only downer is that they don't come with the leather option.

I don't think they look that bad, as the newer ones come with nicer wheels than the VTRs.

I was all set on going for a 206 GTi, but for around £5k, you can get a pretty new VTS, or a 99-00 higher milaged 206. Although the 206 has a better spec list, surely the VTS would be more fun?!?!

    VTS, 206 GTi, opinionz?

VTS - much lighter and similar bhp so it's going to be much more fun!

personally i don't think the image is that bad - saxo's are generally bad, but you don't see many VTS's...

Out of the two, I'd go for the VTS. The 206 GTI is a bit of a wet flannel from what I've read.

The only problem I can think of with the VTS is reliability, but as I'm writing this I'm thinking 'he owns a Punto'

Get it, that sounds like a good price to me.

don't think it does, the cabin is a bit dated - has nasty sliding heater controls etc.... but who cares?!

I had a 1.1 saxo as my first car, and reliability wasn't that bad actually. Gotta be better than the punto.

Only downside is the spec. No a/c, leather, where as the 206 has climate control, 1/2 leather.

But then, I've never had air con, or leather, so won't miss it!

    Hmmmmm.......

I'd go for the Saxo personally. What colour is it?
You could always have a retrim if you wanted leather that much

Yeah, it has a dated interior, with dodgy controls, but so does the punto.

I'm more of a 'driver' anyway, so if it handles I'm happy, and from what I've read, it handles!

Only thing I am slightly concerned about is selling on, but I'm sure it can't be that bad.
