just bought my girl a new motor
2.6 24v v6 sri vectra
now i dont care if i get the usual "oooh vauxhalls ****" crack
because unless you've driven the above you have no idea of the fun it is
spec is as follows:-
star silver 2001 (Y) 2.6 24v v6 sri 52k fvsh, 1 owner, 16 inch sri 5 spoke twin blade alloys, irmscher twin square exhaust, half leather recaro interior, cd player, traction control, air con, full electrics pack and a whole host of other goodies all for £5995
now thats a whole load of car for the cash
drives beautiful purrs at tickover (550 rpm) and howls when given some right foot - fantastic. drives so much different to a 4 cylinder.
this replaces her mitsubishi spacestar shes had for 2 years what with the kids n all so she's a bit happy

Sounds good mate, As you said alot of car for little money.

This is the advantage with buying second hand.

As much as I would like to one day own a brand new car, I can't see the point as they drop in price so much unless you are gona keep it for a good few years.

well i took the car over to a coleague to look at
he'd been giving me the old "oh i'd get an audi or bmw if your going that large on the cc's no way a vaux as there ****"
he couldn't believe it. contrary to popular belief this thing is bolted together really well and has no rattles or clunks or any noises whatsoever.
half leather recaros are lovely and hug the right places and its just a great overall sporty family car (it is going to be used to transport 2 kids and all the baggage that goes with them) 10 speaker music system belts out the tunes lovely too
looked at similar bm's and audis and id of paid at least 10g for a similar specced motor and im sorry but the badge just aint worth it to me not when i've got a 178bhp 146mph car for under 6k
