Most pepole are right handed on the world (90+%)
The wrong side is by you in the UK and Ireland, Angie, this is why used cars are so cheep by you, they has no market on the continent, here by us cars only imported from UK to be a "donor" a wrecked car
In another thread someone make a post, he buy'd in the UK an 1.2 16v 6speed Stilo for the winter for only 300GBP.
Same Stilo by us is 3000GBP
Anyway, try to shift gears with right hand, it is much easyer to shift from 2nd to 3rd when you are on the left side, and the most used gears (R-N-1-2) are close to you, the gear order is also favorizing our LHD system, and (almost) evry car headunit has the pwr and volume buttons on the left side, think about why...
Your RHD system is in the UK from the early years of the "automobilizaton", when cars had no doors, no windows, and no roof, and the driver sit on the right side and made gear changes with his right(!) hand, because the shifter was outside, on the car's right side.
After the cars had door, window and roof, the driver has no more access to the shifter in that place, so it just moved in the middle of the car.
By you the driver just changed to shift with his left hand, others changed the seat of the driver and the passanger and the drive direction on the roads.
By us was also the RHD system until 1947 -only in the middle of the continent...-, all others around us used LHD, after this the soviets(russians) pushed through to change this, they was here (officially) to "protect the peace" , for 45years, with own military airports and khm etc... LOOOOL

Sweden also used RHD, but changed to LHD
I only can't understand Malta, it is just a small island in the Mediterranian sea, and using RHD, all other using LHD, so from Italy can't import cars and use right on the roads
I was jokin with you dude i know other contries are left hand drive lol
Did you even read the post??
Calm down with the essay, she was clearly joking!
Better (ish) one of me
