    Cheers james. I got Farcry free with ma printer its some game but as u rightly said any more than medium settings and it begins to struggle with FPS.

    Will consider the cards you have mentioned

    if i was you i would get a 6800 GT and flash the bios to an ultra. Then ramp the core and memory speeds to match 6800 Ultra speed. Then replace the stock cooling with an NVSilencer 5 to provide a quieter and more effeciant cooling system. By following the above you will save money and end up with a beast

    its it works and is stable then there shouldnt be a problem.

    i have a AMD XP 2500+ CPU and it runs fine as a XP3200+

    well i have a geforce 5900 running with the geforce 5950 ultra bios. It also runs higher than 5950 ultra speed. It has passive cooling as well

    It really depends what your gonna be playing, and what settings you want to use.

    Personally, I have an HIS Radeon 9800 Pro w/arctic cooler.
    Its not overclocked, it can be, I just dont see the need as I havent yet found a game that doesnt run on full detail no problem!
    No doubt there are games that might struggle, but until I play one of those games, I wont change it.

    You can pick up a 9800Pro for about £150 these days, BARGAIN!

    My mates just got a 6800GT but he paid £310 for it, and tbh, its a waste of money at the moment, theres just no need lol.
    I would always go with ATi , just my opinion though

    Yep I'm definitely thinking of a 9800Pro, but the 256Mb version as a bit of future proofing (I already have a GF4 Ti4200 128Mb)
