I went to this too thanks, in convoy with F7URK from London, and yes it was about a 500 mile round trip... And I'm going to the Viking thing next weekend - currently on my own I might add I love driving and that's why I have the cars to enjoy them, but I can completely appreciate most people can't afford 2 tanks of fuel in 1 day, plus whatever cost the event is just for a leisure day.
The reality is though that the majority of our fellow GT owners just don't have the cash to go 50 miles, let alone a few hundred there and back. The majority of the cars just on a population basis are going to be in the south east and therefore get the best turnouts which I think is the point Vern is making.
