    replacing rear subframe bushes

    Anyone done this job?
Do the new bushes press into the chassis rails or the subframe?
People talk of needing a press to fit the new bushes but I was wondering if they can be pushed in manually using a rachet and some nuts and threaded bars.
Can this be done just by lowering the rear axle and frame or is it only doable by taking it off the car completely and splitting brake lines.....?
Thinking of doing this to mine in the spring.i think the modification cups are ok to stop noise but its not a great solution.besides the cups only fit over the front mounts.

Would be easier having the whole beam out. Might be able to smash the old bushs out and use a pulling tool to get new ones in.

Clean the holes once old bushs are out and lube it all well. On mondeo rear subframes we tend to put locktight on the bushs before putting them in just to help hold it.

I hammered my old ones out and pressed the new ones in. Easy if you have a press but the beam needs to come off.

ive recently replaced mine when i powder coated the rear beam, full set of bushes are around 40 pound.
with a big enough hammer old bushes come out eventually but the new bushes need around 3-4 tonne to push in

Did you have to take the trailing arms apart ? Wondering if the heat would affect the bushes.

I would just buy new trailing arms unless you're on a mega budget although consider being able to get ABS sensors out and in without mashing them.
