oh dear yeah i see what you mean now mate. that is GASH.
my old knob was shiny and it lost its numbers on the top but it didnt feel slippery in the hand (cue the jokes about overuse ooh er missus) it still felt nice. this new one feels low rent. call me mr perfectionist if you like but not sure if i am going to keep it. its stitched around the knob and gaitor but still i think the material is some synthetic shite made to look like leather just like you can get faux suede or alcantara.

the guy at partsworld has come back to me today and will be looking into this.
the packet had a fiat ticket on it stating assembly 2/12/13 which doesnt seem right to me. i doubt fiat made these for years.
i suspect its a cheap chinese replica made with something that ressembles leather but isnt.
will update on what he says. i may put my old worn knob and gaitor back on or swap the gaitor at least.
Il have a check of mine, the bag looked quite old though.
Sent mine back for a refund today.
I think its faux leather.....it should take years to go shiny.mine took 2 weeks.less than 100 miles use to start going shiny.inside the gaitor the material looks a different colour to my oe fiat one and the suedey backing even feels different.feels rough.my old ones gone back on if I find another thats still got its numbers stamped on it ill buy it.
