    Power pack

This has gone on my computer apparently and will not even turn on

I am forced to use a crappy windows 98 spare that I have. I was just thinking could I stick the HD from my non-working into the spare? Or would it be slow and not worth it?

    Power supply gone mate?

    Just change it with another

Any online computer site such as http://www.ebuyer.co.uk will do.

Yes you can use your existing hard drive in the '2nd' computer, but only to take files from, ie you cant replace the one in there now with that, as XP wont boot on a different configuration.

Just buy a replacement power supply for ur main computer, its a sinch to change mate, anything 400W + is fine.

If your in a hurry, PC World sell some OK ones, altho they are a little over priced, if you want to get one from there, get a JEANTECH 400W, around £40.

    Cheers.

Had a thought, what if I took the powerpack from the spare and shove it in my normal computer?

as long as the iso connectors fit your motherboard, i.e. p3, p4 etc.

Yep, as Phil said, as long as the connector fits, which it should if the comp is say no more than 4 years old...
