this is 179kms away from us
on thursday afternoon yellow was detuned a little bit because in the last 2 weeks was twice headgasket failure in it, even heater matrix blows out, so spark advance was tuned to less agressive
on friday a water hose clip fail under full load, the water gone away at 200km/h, and the gasket gone again out
the gasket was changed to a new one again, a friend in a machine workshop checked us the head, and was 0.025-0.03mm in it, its OK
on saturday car was filled fully up with fuel (E85) for the race on sunday
but drive home from the petrol station the headgasket gone out again (was pushed hardly, shifts with ALS)... race out(?)
at 17h the black PGT owner (main opponent in the drag races, but good friend) give us a metal headgasket, no one else had any other, he also using normal gasket
was changed to that, because was no other solution
at 19h on saturday
at 20h:
drive saturday evening to a grill party just outside the north end of Budapest, and the water was 118degs hot after some lightly pushes too in the city, this gasket can't torqued down more (was torqued to 20Nm,40Nm, 2x90degs, 1x90degs and 1x45degs at the end and was not enough), and was even no good
at that point (at 1AM on sunday) we was: OK, the race on sunday is over now really :/
wake up at 9h, all other racers was on way to Kunmadaras or arrive, we where at home
Dindi gave me a call after 10h, he found a parts shop open, and there was a normal headgasket, come on fast, change it again, maybe we can do it in time
i was by him before 11h, and the race against the clock was almost never to hard like now
just before 13h the car was ready
testrun, seems to be good, let's go
drive to Kunmadaras was more than 2 hours long on normal motorway (the GPS give us 2h38m time to the trip), traffic was high on the roads, was not easy overtaking the other cars and lighttrucks and buses even with this car too, but shortly after 15h we arrive to the airbase, the last qualification session was from 16h to 17h for cars, and then begun the finals
tyres was changed in minutes, and the yellow is now in the stage
ran the best time of the day in the street category, with new speed record (13.05 and 181km/h, time record is 13.04 by the yellow, speed record was 178km/h even by the yellow)
the black PGT ran 13.1@173km/h twice, but sadly the compression fall in the cylinder 4th for him, so he was out from the finals :/
the white X1/9 1.6T ran 12.15@178km/h at 1.2bar boost
in the final race was against an 1.4 litre turbocharged Honda Civic, the Civic ran just 14sec times on the day, but started very good, the yellow very bad, and 2nd gear shift was missed too, so at the finish line the Civic won just with centimeters, the yellow was more then 20km/h faster in speed
2nd place yesterday, but the championship in still open
there is now just 2 rounds left, who has the better results on both is the champion of this street category

Good old ring land smashing... I have a few like that myself! Annoying, but it saves the rest of the engine being damaged.
