just not sure what size i should buy!? 17's look a tad big, but will 16's provide enough grip?

I have 205/40/16s on mine. Same width as most 17s but smaller and lighter generally.

what width are the wheels? 205/40/16 sounds good size, most are 195/40/16 and im not sure if 205 tyres would look too fat on wheels designed for 195's.

Theirs no problem with 17s if you get the right ones. Fiats dont suit thin 5 spokes.
