there is thousands of pages on tinterwebs about this! firstly has your steering failed, ie gone heavy?
on a 2b its normally down to battery condition, how old is your battery? did the light come on just after starting , did you have heaters, radio etc etc on?

It has gone heavy the city steering doesn't work I never use anyway but I thought id try out of interest and its still heavy ? The battery i fully charged it but there 's no difference the light is still on ? What should I try next

It needs a replacement column then but you must replace it with the correct unit, there Is a 4 digit number on the steering ecu

Could be low battery causing voltage drop.... or if you have error in the system which says motor then it's the motor if the error is torque position sensor then you need a new Colum

When I put it on full lock to the left it makes a clunking noise when I start to steer back ???
