OK had to remove this to tighten on the new water pump casing.
when i removed the long lower most bolt on the alternator a washer fell on the floor and im not sure where it came from. after one i knew must be from behind the securing nut but the second one, not sure and i think its vital to get it correct or the pulley will be out by a couple of mm.
as the head of the bolt sits in a hex cut out on the alternator bracket the 2nd washer cant fit there so im thinking i need to insert the bolt just through the first bracket then push in the washer between the other side of that bracket and the bracket on the back of the engine block. if that makes sense.
