Good for you.
Tell me how much a full factory respray would cost from them would you then if you please.
Jesus Don't get so defensive. I really don't think it had a factory the spray. Like you say they don't take cars back once they leave the factory. What I think is he means it was resprayed by a dealer.
Maybe it was delivered with a paint blemish and they had to redo it? You hear about cars being delivered with paint issues. I don't know but throwing it out there.

No im serious.
If the main dealer did a full respray how much would it be. Im positive it wouldn't be an acceptable figure ti a normal person.
The 10k might very well be that lol
Depends if it was warranty or not I guess. Could be quite a bit but I think £10k is too much.

I like the answer he gives to the person asking what he spent 10 k on, a new steering wheel! Bargain haha!
there is something fishy about this car me thinks!
Every car is scrutinised before it leaves the factory so would never have been put on the forecourt. I have seen cars that have been left in garages for 20/30 years and the paint is as good as the day it left the factory. Sorry but it annoys me when people talk crap and then try sell it. I really hope no one buys that car because it sound like trouble.
And btw I have worked at dealers and we never even charge 10k to insurance companies , 5k tops for a full bare metal respray
The factory's won't do a respray after it has left the bodyshop.
They will however paint over an already painted panel, as long as its within 24 hours of the original finish being applied (you can paint over fresh paint without prepping it again).
The whole car couldn't have justified a respray as the car is painted in pieces, I'm sure the odds of every panel having some form of contamination would be slim to none.
Another bit of info, in the factories they don't actually blend panels, this is because the paint is made using their products, to their spec, which will always be the same for each colour.
At work we can paint any single panel without worrying about the colour match, this is because we only paint fords, and our paint is supplied by ford, but mixed on site to their spec. Obviously this is with the exception of poor previous, where was just paint to the next whole panel.
Warranty damage will just go to a specific approved garage via the dealer.
Obviously some dealers will have facilities on site, but most will sent it to their approved bodyshop.
