    Strange PC issues

Ok so everything was running fine and dandy on my computer. Decided I wanted to upgrade my aging graphics card though, and while I was at it pop a bit more ram in.

So I buy both brand new from Overclockers at a good deal and get them installed.

The ram is the same speed and type, I simply swapped my 2x1gb sticks for 2x2gb (bringing it up to 8gb). Gfx card is PCI-E 3 and my board is 2 but that should be fine.

Got the latest drivers installed etc and it all goes wrong.

I can't install any programs if the file is on my C drive, but move it and I can install. It also blue screened twice regarding display drivers. So I roll back the driver to no avail. Everytime I try to install I get:

    NSIS Error

Error writing the temporary file. Make sure your temp folder is valid.

I've tried removing the graphics card and ram (which are uninstalled now) and done a system restore ... same problem! Tried turning anti virus off too.

Now obviously I can work round it, but it worries me and is indicative of something being wrong. Any ideas?!

Sorry I was falling asleep last night when I read that.
NSIS is a free installer, that sometimes appears in some programs when you download them.
You have downloaded a corrupt file and installed it
    what have you installed exactly?

Use Revo uninstaller (demo), reboot, use CCleaner

It's nearly every exe I try to install. Ones downloaded months ago that I know are fine. If I move the file to D drive and try to install then it's fine. It has to be bigger problem..

You have a confliciting grapics card driver most likely.

The blie screen error is normally a ram issue either bad memory blocks or similar.

Reseat all memory modules and also the gpu and uninstall the gpus from device manager. Then see how it works using windows drivers

I've reverted back to standard and the blue screen hasn't came back. GPU was fully uninstalled and cleared etc.

I'm more concerned with the NSIS error on every exe on my C drive.

The error nsis you have is to do with corrupt installation files. Its checking the corruption and then failing.

You cab bypass it using a witkaround to get it working from c drive but i would think your installer is corruped some how.

Try installing microsoft installer and see if it fixes it.

Is the installer unique to each file or a windows based thing?
