Don't tell them your a student. Insurers see that youll spend most of your time in your car on your breaks so they put the price up. I know someone who works at an insurance place who told me that one

IMHO insurance companies are in secret price-cartell by you guys

this story was played by us 6-8 years ago too, and then something happened...

in 2005 Allianz and all the "old" internationally known insurance company gav me 180-200GBP price for a year for the PGT
and then to this insurance business newcomer MÁV-ABE company gav me just an 110GBP price for a year for the same car

nowdays the Allianz asking just 62GBP(!!) for a year, and this is not the cheapest...
how they do it?
...and i'm sure, they have profit on the business nowdays too, just less, and old time's extra profit gone for ever away

Okay thanks guys, will have a look at endsleigh! I will be doing a pass plus when I have passed, hopefully that will make a difference. if not I will have to look at having one of them boxes fitted... do they make much of a difference?

Most companies won't touch you cause of your age, I noticed pass plus didn't do much for me.

Also, what insurance group is the car you're trying to insure?

Postcode plays a factor too, I heard if you're from Ipswich you get some good quotes.

ahh I cant get multi car due to my parents care on mobility! and ohh right, I don't know whether to do it or not and im not to sure what the insurance group is, its a 1.2 year 2000? and ahhh not from Ipswich, from Northampton, quite a rough area too... :/ I haven't got anything going for me at the moment aha

i know this sounds a bit silly but try doing the quotes on a monday, i was told by a couple of people you get better quotes earlier in the week, i didn't believe them until i tried it myself. i'm insured now for 857 with "insure2drive" they gave me the best quotes for a while as i waited a couple of months after i passed until i insured my car, i'm 20 and my insurance is a quarter of my two best mates' insurance, if i were you i would expect to pay about a grand at your age being a female.
