    evo iv any good???

So I'm gonna put the punto up for sale soon as I need to be more grown up lol (women always have there way) I'm think of getting an evo 4 as there reasonable priced and still look decent, anyone know much about them and what sort of price a good condition one is worth?? Also common faults etc!! I know the service schedule is around every 5k but that's once a year for me!!!

If you can I'd spend a little more and get a 5 or 6, look a lot better and not that much more expensive.

The IV suffers from crank walk on the original engine which was sorted out in the 5. Apart from that just the usual stuff to look for.

Get on MLR, there's loads of info on there.

Yeah unfortunately a lot of IVs have suffered crank walk due to a fault with the bearing set but its onset has been random and doesnt affect all engines, with the age alot of engines have been rebuilt or replaced with more modern 4G63s anyway.

Same as Simon too, spend a little more and reach out for a V, the wide body really makes a difference. IV can look nice but usually look like a Proton with a big wing!

Agreed with the lads above mate, dont go Evo IV when you can get a 5 or 6 for a little more, so much nicer to look at, better interior and stronger engine.
You will love it though if you do go Evo.

if you want one deffo go for a 5 or 6 as already said, evo 4 looks alot older, engines blow up, diffs blow up...

personally, my 5, i never liked it, it was boring, i know others will disagree but that was my experience, i still loved it for the fact it was an 'evo' and looked cool though.

    look for rust on chassis.
