Big badges on the grilles are a big put off for me, nice figures though.

First thought that came to my head was Mercedes claiming its the most powerful production 4 cylinder in the world, obviously forgot about the fq400

Going be to priced out the market. No way will it compete with the BMW M135i Price wise.
Easily see this coming in at 40k base minimum.

I think the new A class looks fantastic. So much better than the old one.

Says £32k cal?
Didn't read that article to be fair, read a couple through the week on various motoring websites though, none had a firm price.
If it is indeed 32k that's more like it, albeit a primitive 4wd?
Well its not proper AWD is it, its like Haldex on some VAGs, where its 2WD until it detects a reason to divert torque elsewhere, even then its limited. Not too dissimilar to a Panda either
Mitsi have had 3 different 4cylinder engines with higher outputs than that one, but maybe the article means 'in production' although it doesn't specify either.
Looks nice but its just going to be a modern yuppys car.
Fhucksake, anyone seen the dashboard? Yuk.
not seen the dash but like the look of this new A. so much better than the original (remember when it goosed up the Mousse testing years back?)
highly strung for a production 2.0 litre but thats amg for you. good figures. the germans will love it.
Well the engine was likely developed at MBHPE which is a British arm of Merc.
The 4G63 in the original FQ400 was developed in the UK and was the highest specific output motor before the 4B11T in the EvoX took the record, 202.5hp per litre. The MIVEC 4G63 in the FQ360 also has more HPs than this Merc unit.
They look great externally and 32k isn't a lot of that bags you this AMG model... A Golf GTi costs £30k!!! Prices are just sat these days...
