You need a lead for it, iirc it comes with a mini HDMI Port.

Seconded, can't go wrong. The price is worth paying for, the perfect size, super lightweight, fast and just works.

Full size iPads are abit big and heavy for a child to hold i'd of thought?

I've running at home with MacAir 13, Apple TV, iPhone. All connected - just works. iPhone is remote for AppleTV. Great stuff.

Apple TV is next on my list. but I've got a Macbook 13 Retina, iPad, iPhone and an Apple compatible printer. Love how it all works together.

galaxy tab if you are going for a 10 inch. but if you want the smaller size, and you can wait a couple months the ipad mini 2 is going to be the best small tab. by the by i can do everything remotely/via my TV without an apple TV or iPhone in sight, use my droid phone as a VNC remote. so if you want the remote/wireless factor don't feel like you have to go apple.
