Hello from a wet and windy North Yorkshire

[I][FONT=Verdana]I'm not a Punto owner, but look after my daughter's significant other's recently purchased 2004 1.2 16v car. I must admit to being most impressed with the car and I am keeping my eye open for one for myself to use as a second car. The current car is a late Signum Elite 1.9 cdti, so the Punto will be somewhat more basic, but cheaper to run about town and to the allotment.

I'm hoping to get advice and guidance in keeping his Punto as I hear that they can be a little less than mechanically and electrically perfect - warning lights coming on for no apparent reason seems to be a feature.

I look forward to being an active member.

I've bought myself a really nice, one owner 2005 Active Sport and it is a pleasure to drive. There are a couple of things that I want to do and would appreciate some advice. The heater fan runs all of the time, irrespective of where I set the switch and the aerial base is cracked, I've got one on order and understand that it is replaced by removing the internal light. The driver's seat does not want to move to give access to the rear seats, the control lever at the top of the seat lifts, but feels loose and the seat doesn't slide forward. Nothing too serious, but I want to get it fixed.

Regarding the driver's seat, it may be the control cable from the handle to the seat lock is detached or possibly broken.
