hi ive got a punto with 16v 2.0 engine when i boot it it pulls like hell but boost gauge only showing just under halfway even if i open up the boost controller?? anyideas??

Got the vac lines wrong way around so its only running to actuator pressure.
Gauge supply split/cracked, bad connection, sticking gauge (e.g. Plasma Dial face on std. gauge)?
Hi there it's on the std. Dial but reads to just under half when got foot down?.. Has got a cheap shitty manual boost controller not fitted by me..
you need an after market boost gauge
does the 2.0 16v unit run at a lower pressure than the small 1.4 GT motor though? as a road car i know the smaller engined FIATs ran relatively high bost pressures compared to other turbo cars of that period.
that might be one reason for a lower reading than youd expect to see on the standard GT boost gauge. if it feels blinding then maybe its giving its best just that it registers lower down on your gauge.
The workshop manual states a max. of 1.05 Bar for the 16VT, but I'm unsure if that's the standard "controlled maximum".
