Sad that he died
Does it have a turbo'd 1.1 or a gt/Uno engine?
i will start on the sad note that the previous owner of this car suddenly died at the age of 41 (a fiat forum member) while nearing the end of a full restoration of the car, his wife offered the car for sale.
so all thats really left now is to get the drivers rear quarter sprayed up and new van aaken decals made, and few bits need rewiring within the engine bay and a boost pipe was split (now sorted) but still wont idle for some reason.
it is the worlds first cinquecento turbo, built and owned by van aaken in 1996 as a press car, as featured auto italia twice, plus a book which i dont know what book.... and in what looks to be a french magazine too, plus plenty of website including novitec.
cant wait to get it all done

Sweet ride!
The Xploit had had a Van Aaken decal on the tail gate at some point in its life as the paint had faded around it.... Lets see some engine bay!
I had a new red 1.1 sporting in 96 and i really wanted this kit - think it cost about £1500 and you got double the BHP and torque in 765kg!
would have killed myself probably. i bet it was a lot of fun. the standard 55bhp sporting was pretty nippy off the line up to about 40 and would surprise lots of other motors round town. very chuckable too with good brakes and (non PS) direct steering. I loved mine. Bought for £5995 sold for £6295 after 8,000 miles and 10 months
The Sporting was in the motoring press for ages before during and long after launch in various tests and was very popular.
It proved you didnt need a million BHP or a million pounds to be able to have fun.
always thought the turbo deserved to have the full cinq abarth kit and 14" alloys too but i guess the standard look would have been the ideal urban sleeper. Just read elsewhere that a high boost cinq 1108cc pulled a 6.9s to 60 run at York Raceway. Sweet.
good to see this car again..........

Nice car.
I hope you actually finish this project it seems to have been kicking around the Fiat Forum for about 5 years!
My friend had a high boost 1242 Cinq and was pretty nippy, great fun little cars. I went for the 16 valve route in my Seicento but it didn't have the savage torque delivery of the tiny Turbo!
Another car beau!?
Engine bay pics yes
Seen the car on FF (and in the metal whilst a previous owner had it). Wanted it so much.
The book's called "Great Small Fiats", in case you wondered.
Such a cool car!
Have you managed to sort the idle issue out?
Why was it taken off the road in the first place?
Just looked through a few pages on FF on this car.
Seems its been destined since day one. No one has ever put it together and fixed and issues.
I'm sure in one pic the rear end was 6ft in the air on a folk lift.
Someone else broke the car for parts at one point too.
Lets hope you can sort it out.
