    What about the 1.6?
85 models have the same 1.2 16V engine as the Sporting, but higher final drive ratio and don't have the lowered and stiffer suspension (and ARBs?).

90 models have the same 1.6 engine as the Sporting, but higher gear ratios for 3rd, 4th and 5th don't have the lowered and stiffer suspension (and ARBs?).

I'm just surprised you don't have ps.

But it seems this guy has a 1.2 8v fire engine in his cabbie.

    re: manual roof

There are no switches for an elec roof so I assume it was manufactured with manual roof. I will take another look when I am next out. I will also take photo's of the engine bay so I can post and get some advice as to what the engine is. The good news is it has passed the ITV (Spanish MOT equivalent) so its deemed roadworthy for another 12 months.

Mawbster, do you have any diagrams of the roof mechanism, I have noticed a lenght of snapped wire or cable hanging down from the edge of the softtop. I know MX5's have a tension strap and wondered if punto softtops have anything similar that has snapped.

    Many thanks, Simon.

There are indeed tensioner wires in each side of the soft top/hood outer cover, and also support frame, spacing adjustment straps under the headlining.

I'd guess the 1.2 60S/SX Cabrio with manual folding top was a European version.

Manual sunroof versions of the saloons are mentioned in both my early and late Owner's Manuals, so I expect similar variations may have been available for the Cabrios.
