How do I tighten the Auxiliary belt on a GT

Only recently bought the GT and I've noticed the belt is loose.
Since there is no Haynes Manual and the Porter's manual does not go into too much detail I'd like to know how do I go about this?

To get to the alternator bolts seems very much tucked away, do I need to remove the Cambelt covers and work from the top of the car or Is there a simpler way?

Also notice a jockey pulley/tensioner but this is making little effect now as its already over as far as it can go.

You have to loss the alternator bolts.

Slacken/loosen the alternator pivot bolt(s), positioning bolt (in slotted hole) and idler/tensioner wheel, push alternator away from the block to remove the majority of the slackness in the belt. Tighten positioning bolt, pivot bolt(s) and then adjust tension as necessary.

There may be a worm screw that adjusts/affects the base alternator position, rather than just the positioning bolt in a slotted hole. Visibility of the various parts is a pain. Section 5 Job 26 in the Porter's. The Haynes does cover basics like this, but not specifically for the 1.6 and GT arrangements.

How do i get to the Alternator? Do i need to work from the top?
Remove the brake fluid container so I can get my hands down there?
Or do i work underneath the car.

question is how? alternator is so inaccessible. do i work from the top of the car and remove parts or work below.

I've not done this myself, only dismantled an engine after it was removed from the car.

My best guess is that, to do this from above, you will need to remove the inlet manifold, at the very least.

At LHD cars you don't have to remove the intake (btw in stock condition it's only possible together with the exhaust manifold!).
Loss the screw near the water pump a little bit.
Than loss the other screw under the engine near the axle prop (right name?!).
Exchange the belt, tight the upper screw a little bit.
Tension on the alternator with a long metall or wood cylinder and a hammer. Then screws can be right mounted.

Loosen the two bolts in orange then adjust the idler jockey pulley with a 21mm spanner and use a 14 mm spanner to tighten the smaller bolt.
Re-tighten the orange circled bolt.
