Fix it up or Buy new?

    Hello

Not been on here for a long while as planning my wedding, which has now been and gone!

I'm a little stuck on whether to fix my mk2 or buy a new car.

Though, not really sure how much the car is worth as its not running at its best.

Unfortunately had a couple of bumps/scrapes (not all my fault as someone hit me then drove off ) this means the driver side front wing which has been pushed back slightly and catches on the door and there is slight damage to the front bumper.

It is also overheating, we have replaced the themostat and radiator but still doing it so I think the head gasket has gone??

What do you think? If you need pics just ask?

Otherwise, I am thinking of selling up and either getting a Grande to stick with Fiat. Or maybe a Seat Leon/Ibiza? Or would love a new Ford Fiesta!

    Thank you

    Grandes are good cars.

considering that you can pick up a 06/07 plate 1.4 active sport grande punto for under £2000 now i probably wouldnt bother fixing and upgrade

I agree, a 3+ year old Grande offers huge value for money. My top of the line Abarth SS was 1/2 its original list price at £8,500. Fiats still devalue at a very rapid rate. A T-Jet based Sporting can take some serious tuning, too. The Tuning e Stile 'tuning box' is only ~£100 and whacks 30% onto the base power and torque, with no decline in consumption figures, if/when you can use a light right foot.
