Hi guys and girls I'm scott from wales. I have always like the look on thses punto GT turbos in yellow with black wheels. I have since found one goin cheep and thought this would be a great lil car for me and the missis to have a lil fun in. Now it says that its blowing white smoke an the fella says its not holding water so I asume its the head gasket. I don't mind gettin my hands dirty I have workd on car since I was a lil nipper with my dad uncle and grand father been time severd mechanicts. Is there anything els I should be looking out for with these lil cars common problems ect. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

welcome fella. where in wales do you live?

rust is going to be one of the main things to look out for on these cars now.
need to check arches in and outside paying more attention around the petrol tank neck where it's attached to the arch. the most common area where they go is around the rear jacking points and along the sills.

as for the rest use your own judgement and check the usual things when buying any car.

Welcome along.

As above, you need to be checking for rust.
If/when you end up doing the head gasket, make sure you check the head (and sometime the bottom end) for cracks.

Oa great ok will do. £500,80k,MOT april 2013 ? It has a few mods front mount intercooler seb 2 chip turbo timer an the usual boots gages and wot not.

I don't at the min sorry its was on pistonheads up for £550 if its still on there.

just had a look looks nice enough. i bought my gt about a month ago for £400 needed work but it nearly done now

Cool ! Ye I hope it doesn't need to much think its just a lil worried about there been cracks in the head is this common and can I get replacement heads or is there anothere engin I can use like a bravo lump or .... ?
