Standard GT.
Civic is bigger, heavier, less power, less torque. Don't need to be a professor to work out the outcome, as long as your GT doesn't break.
Further to this convo. The civic has a unrated inlet manifold, de cat, a lightened 1.6 flywheel, straight through long life system.
I think it's a 1.6 but it was 108bhp stock as far as he says
What would be needed to take this on and wipe the floor with in a gt?

Lol. I'm new to th GT so sorry for sounding a tw@t
iv had one try and race me left him standing
never been in a traffic light grand prix 1st gear getaway with one only one that was already rolling at about 40 mph.
he was tootling along a dual and I went around him in 4th then as i was pulling back in he decided to speed up and i didnt change down to 3rd (thats my excuse right there and im sticking to it) but even so i was pulling from low revs yet he drew past not fast but as i didnt get that kick in 3rd he had me as he caned it through the gears. that was before i had the car custom mapped up at FCP.
off the line id kick bottom though........... might do better on a rolling now too......(in the right gear)
Civics.....Meh.
PS.....until I got to a corner of course

u should easy beat it as vibrio used to do it in his gt with filter intercooler decat and that was a type r, dont even know if he had a chip on it.

a couple of vids somewhere he beat, although in this vid im not sure if he gets over the line before the civic and then the civic passes after the line
So should be a easy contest
That Vibrio vid is about 10yrs old now. The Civic guy was blatently not looking at the lights when they set off - just look how fast he catches the GT >60mph towards the end. He was catching it so quick it looked like the GT had hit reverse instead of 4th
Anyway, on topic, this race at USC you speak of cannot even be considered a race. To make it fair, give him a 2 second head start and you will still smoke him. Anything other than a Type-R is not remotely fast enough in any car from Honda >02 onwards. The only Civics you need to watch are the 1.6 VTEC's from the 90's. They are badged as VTi's. The modern stuff has VTEC on the cam cover but it don't mean s**t as there's no high lift cam inside...
If you have any car care related questions, ask me in the Cleaning/Detailing section.
Just baffles me how he has taken on a Punto gt previously and beat it
well you have good days and bad. sometimes you catch other drivers unawares sometime they do the same to you so this partly explains the variations in everyones "stories"......
