If I were you selling the car then I would give him a choice of two options, first that he sorts his own day insurance and buys the car like any ordinary transaction, second if he can't be bothered with the greif and you want the car gone, deliver the car to him for an agreed price that includes transport for you to get home, and finalise the paperwork of the transaction on his driveway. Or failing them options there's plenty of tow trucks that can collect it for him.

crossed wires on my part. the guy wasnt expecting my policy to pick up the bill to repair the punto at all. thats what i thought he was expecting. he just wanted third party cover (as originally touched on by Tim and letter of the law in holding off legal transfer) if he pranged it then thats his look out......he knew he could lose his money and finish up with a pile of scrap if he got t-boned..........i did say that this is risky and he could see the benefit of fully comp for day so thats what he is going to do which is the sensible thing really.
