Don't know what it stands for but OGG has the same quality as MP3, but the size is much less. It's like WMA and MP3pro, but OGG sounds much better then WMA. You can play OGG files with winamp.

Thats all i know about them.

Yea pretty much what Mechelle said, basically winamp or windows media player should play them fine.

The only problem you might have is if you try and put them to make an audio cd, you might need to convert it to mp3.

Which is no big deal really

Ogg Vorbis is a new audio compression format. It is roughly comparable to other formats used to store and play digital music, such as MP3, VQF, AAC, and other digital audio formats. It is different from these other formats because it is completely free, open, and unpatented.

Not strictly true, WMP is highly versatile when it comes to playing media; through the use of codecs.

This codec pack contains the OggDS codecs so they can be played in WMP.
