nice enough car, chassis cant keep up with the engine though, torque steer etc, my wife loves them so that should tell you something (she drives a transit van!)

My other half has a GTI 180 and it is a lot of fun in the twisties. Good compromise on fuel economy too it doesn't use much more than my GT.

If you are someone who doesn't understand a strong chassis and are power mad then you won't get this car.....but it is a nicely balanced little package. One of the best I have driven on a B-road blast in the hatchback sector. (I can't speak for any other 206 though)

They are also very reliable. I speak from what we know but apart from consumables and the tax/mot it hasn't needed a penny spent on it in 45,000 miles - seriously impressed.

She had a white 205 diesel as her first car and we did 50,000 miles in a year and it didn't miss a beat apart from needing a couple of sets of boots.

I'm not a fanboy and it's not the kind of car I would own - but am being honest about it....I was semi hoping it would be crap but it has surprised me.
