I put my rose tinted glassed on today and was watching the old Top Gear hot hatch road test including a GT2 and was wondering if the car used is still around?
Has somebody here got it or would it have ended its life like a lot of press cars in the crusher or languishing at the back of the factory somewhere rusting away?
The car was a 1996 or 1997 GT2 in red registration P498 CCF.

The reg could if changed though Stu my car had a reg plate m394 ygn before the guy i bought it off changed it from his private plate and now its m362crv so without vin number be hard to trace it!!! It's orange one isn't it???? Check the reg on askmid.co.uk I think see if its insured then you know if its alive lol
It was red, how often does a run of the mill car registration get changed?? Not very often, just speculation.
Could be anywhere the not quite dead cod!
all it takes is someone to put a private plate on, and if it gets taken off, its not guaranteed it will get the same number back on, and id say most cars i have owned have had private plates on at some point, especially if they've been through a few owners.Originally Posted by Superman
